Phase One of Historic Organ Restoration Project Begins at Saint Leonard’s Church in Loftus!
HISTORIC MORNING AT SAINT LEONARD’S CHURCH
On the morning of Monday 15th February 2021 work commenced on phase one of our church organ restoration project, which will restore and compete our historic instrument dating from 1902.
Phase one of restoration works will primarily restore the Pedal Organ, and much of the pipework from the pedal section of our Edwardian instrument will now be removed and taken to the workshop of York Pipe Organs in York City Centre.
We still require an additional £18,694.26 to complete our fundraising efforts for full completion of the project and we are awaiting news from a number of trust funds and other grant making bodies to whom we applied in the last quarter of 2020.
Should anyone be moved or minded to make a donation, all donations (no matter how large or small) would be gratefully received and acknowledged. Donations marked “Organ Project” can be left in a sealed envelope in church, or posted to Father Adam Gaunt at The Rectory, 11 Micklow Lane, Loftus, TS13 4JE.
Thank you for your support!
