Benefice Website Goes Live

We are delighted to announce that our new website for the Benefice of Loftus-in-Cleveland and Carlin How with Skinningrove has gone live!

The official launch of the Loftus Parish website this weekend allows people to stay in touch with Benefice life, our news, our church services and our varied fundraising and social events.

The Loftus Parish website logo has been inspired by the emblem adopted for the publication of our Benefice Plan in 2011.  The logo includes a shield with the heraldic devices of our two Patron Saints.

Firstly, St Leonard is represented in heraldry by gold chains on a black field and secondly, St Helen is represented by a gold cross upon a field of imperial purple.  Old note paper used by former incumbents of the Benefice often included two separate shields; however, it has been felt far more appropriate for the two parish patron saints to be represented united within the one shield.  Consequently, the shield represents our single Benefice which is currently divided into two equal and complementary Parishes.
